Girls Conduct Disorder Program -
SPIRIT
Self, Pride, Integrity, Resilience
and Independence Training
At El Pueblo...an Adolescent Treatment Community, the girls live in family-style
homes that provide a loving, structured, teaching environment that meets
their unique needs.
Girls are expected to accomplish the
requirements of the Performance Program for Youth, but are additionally
assigned to specialized groups based upon individual need. Women’s
Issues group addresses needs and issues that are unique to females.
Other specific groups are: sexual
compulsivity, relationships, sex education, self esteem, and
relationships. Three therapists have training in Dialectic Behavior
Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Replacement Therapy (EMDR). With this specialized training, treatment can more
effectively address self-harm behavior, trauma, victimization and sexually
reactive problems, sexual compulsivity, and sexual abuse behavior.
