STRIVE I/II (Boys)

Strength, Teamwork, Respect, Independence, and Vision for Excellence

STRIVE I

The purpose of the STRIVE I program is to provide a structured, supportive environment for dually diagnosed developmentally disabled residents requiring specialized services. The therapeutic focus of this program assists residents in gaining skills to manage their mental health needs and obtain successful life skills. The goal of this program is for the resident to develop a greater understanding of their strengths and abilities, and to then develop new skills/tools for effective coping and constructive behaviors to prepare the resident for independent living or to succeed in a less restrictive level of care.

STRIVE II

Residents enter into the STRIVE II (independent living program) when it is determined that the residents are in need of preparation for discharge to a less restrictive setting, or home with family members. The emphasis is on developing the ability to be responsible for self, work with others constructively and have exposure to a real life work environment. While in this program the resident will gain a greater understanding of their strengths and abilities and to then develop new skills/tools for effective coping and constructive behaviors to prepare the resident to succeed in the lowest level of care once in the community.

El Pueblo Community to Community philosophy is dedicated to following the child back into the home to assist with stabilization, life skills and domestic responsibilities.
